BOWIE, Md. – Bowie State graduate senior offensive lineman Quinton Bobo (White Plains, MD) was named to the BOXTOROW Preseason All-America Team, the publication announced last Thursday.
The recognition came just days after the Bulldogs were selected fourth in the BOXTOROW HBCU Media Poll, receiving three first place votes. Bobo is one of five offensive lineman named to the HBCU elite lineup that also featured Robery Lacey (Tennessee State), Dallas Black (Southern), Mark Evans, II (Arkansas-Pine Bluff) and Tony Gray (Jackson State).
Bobo, a first-team All-CIAA selection in 2021 and preseason All-CIAA selection in 2022, helped BSU rank first in total points (385), total touchdowns (60) and extra field goal points (54). BSU's offense compiled 4,923 yards of total offense including 2,489 rushing yards and six games with 200-yard or more rushing games in addition to 25 rushing touchdowns for a conference second best.
Bobo and the Bulldogs open the 2022 slate at home on Sept. 3 against New Haven for just the fifth time in program history. The game will also serve as the 50th anniversary of the Bowie State 1972 football team.
