Bulldogs Use Balance Attack to Sweep Trinity (DC)

BOWIE, Md. – The Bowie State women's volleyball team charted a season-high 33 service aces in route to a 3-0 sweep over Trinity Washington University Tuesday afternoon inside McKeldin Gymnasium.

The Bulldogs won straight sets (25-3, 25-6 and 25-9) while hitting .400 from the floor, registering a match-high 10 kills in the opening set and a hitting percentage of .500.

Junior Lindsey Grossman (Albany, OR) led all scorers with six kills (.857), 13 assists and five services on the day while freshman Charity Harris (Brandywine, MD) tabbed a career-high and match high 12 service aces, four kills and a dig.

Additionally, freshman Nadira Avery (Bowie, MD) and junior Neysha Washington (Winchesters, VA) posted six aces apiece in the winning effort.

The Bulldogs open conference play on Thursday, Sept. 15 when Bowie State travels to face Virginia State at the VSU Multipurpose Center. The match is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
