CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Two Bowie State football student-athletes earned Player of the Week honors announced by the league office Tuesday morning. Graduate seniors Dion "DJ" Golatt, Jr. and Quinton Bobo were named the CIAA Food Lion Quarterback and Offensive Lineman of the Week after helping the No. 8 Bowie State Bulldogs to a comeback 27-20 win over No. 16 New Haven during the season opener last weekend.

Golatt, Jr. completed 17 of 29 passes for 266 yards and three touchdowns in the win. The Largo, Md., native threw the game-winning touchdown with nine seconds remaining in the game. He then rushed for the two-point conversion. In the fourth quarter, his earlier touchdown, a 68-yard strike, gave BSU a 19-17 lead. He finished with a passer efficiency rating of 149.8.

Bobo along with a very good veteran offensive line were at the forefront of the Bulldogs offense that – tacking on 361 total yards of offense featuring 268 yards through the air against the Chargers.
