ELIZABETH CITY, NC -- The Bowie State women's volleyball team fell in four sets to the Fayetteville State Lady Broncos (22-25, 8-25, 25-22, 20-25) to wrap up day one of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Round-Up II at the R.L. Vaughan Center Saturday night.
The loss dropped Bowie State's record to 2-21 overall and 0-9 in CIAA play.
Dumebi Odiong finished with six kills on the day to lead the Bulldogs offense while finishing with a hitting percentage of .600 while Tristynn Kerr recorded 13 digs to lead them defensively.

How It Happened
SET 1 | In spite of an impressive serving effort, the Bulldogs dropped set one 25-22. Bowie State totaled five aces in the set loss.
SET 2 | Bowie State then lost set two 25-8 to fall behind in the match two sets to none. BSU trailed by as many as 17 points as Fayetteville State grabbed the advantage for good at 3-2 in a set that was tied up two times before the Lady Broncos took over the lead.
SET 3 | BSU stayed alive with a victory in set three to make it a 2-1 match. The Bulldogs survived a back-and-forth set to win 25-22 in a stanza that featured four lead changes and was tied seven times. Neither team opened up a lead of more than three points along the way. The Bowie State offense also got a boost from three aces in the stanza.
SET 4 | Bowie State couldn't keep the rally going and lost in the fourth set 25-20 to drop the match. The Bulldogs trailed by as many as seven points as FSU grabbed the advantage for good at 11-10 and Bowie State was never able to recover in a set that was knotted up four times before the Broncos took over the lead.
