The Series
This will be the first meeting of 2023 between Bowie State and Lincoln (PA). The Bulldogs are 17-13 against the Lions dating back to 2007 as Bowie State has won six straight entering Thursday's matchup. BSU is 6-9 on the road against LUPAÂ and owns a 7-3 record over Lincoln (PA) in the last 10 matchups.
The Bulldogs
BSU (2-24, 0-12) is still in search of its first conference win for 2023, the Bulldogs also hope to snap a 13-match losing skid after falling 3-0 to Elizabeth City State on Monday. The loss dropped Bowie State's 0-5 in the Northern Division.Â
Madyson Brinson finished with eight kills on the day to lead the Bulldogs offense. Defensively, BSU had two players reach double figures in digs asÂ

Mekenna Scott had 11. Despite the record, Bowie State has players ranked top-10 in statistical categories that include Nine Edwards who has 57 blocks (5th CIAA) and Kerr with .48 service aces (10th CIAA). Brinson leads the team in kills (186), while Scott has a team-high 284 assists and Kerr owns a team-best 225 digs and 43 service aces. Edwards is the team's leader in blocks.Â
The Opponent
The Lady Lions (4-18, 1-9) enters Thursday's tilt with winning momentum, LUPA won its first conference match of the season against Virginia State, 3-1 led by Erica Taylor's 16 kills and 10 from Janaa Smith. Jaida Lumpkin accounted for 17 assists while Smith added 14, followed by 15, 12 and 11 digs from Janiece Lumpkin, Mariah Webster and Lumpkin. Amongst the CIAA, Lincoln (PA) is 10th in points (11.50), 11th in hitting percentage (.088), kills average per set (8.54) while they've allowed its opponents to average 11.37 kills per set on a hitting percentage of .194. The Lady Lions are 3-3 at home this season.Â
