Nina Edwards, who finished with 11 kills on the day while accumulating a hitting percentage of .455, whileÂ
Madyson Brinson contributed 10. Defensively, had two players reached double figures in digs asÂ
Tristynn Kerr had 17 andÂ
Haley Pelham had 15. From the front row, Edwards contributed six blocks and Brinson added five rejections.
The Opponent
The Lady Bears of Shaw were the only team to go undefeated in league action this season at 18-0 for 2023. Shaw (27-5) suffered just two losses at home this year, including a 3-1 decision to Mount Olive and Alaska Fairbanks back in September. The Lady Bears have the number one offense in the CIAA, averaging 17.14 points per set, .230 hitting percentage, assists (11.29), kills per set (12.69), service aces (2.76) and digs per set (17.01). Lillian Carlson leads the team in kills (245) while Lauren Janok has a team-high 907 assists, followed by Jasmine Culp with a team-best 446 digs.
