GAME 2 | Delaware State 6, Bowie State 1
DOVER, Del. -- The Bowie State Bulldogs had a tough showing game two of the twinbill against the Lady Hornets of Delaware State, falling 6-1 despite the efforts of sophomore Sydney Edmond, who went 1-for-3 with an RBI.
Sophomore Karen Fritzges (2-1) got the ball to start for Bowie State (8-8) and took the loss.In the batter's box, the Bulldogs were led by Edmond, who went 1-for-3 on the day with an RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Trailing 3-0, the Bulldogs first put runs on the board in the fifth inning. Freshman Trinity Mizelle came across to score the lone run of the inning for BSU and get them on the board. The Bulldogs were unable to get any closer, as Delaware State added three runs to their tally on the way to a 6-1 final.
GAME NOTES
» Bowie State's highest scoring inning was the fifth, when it pushed one run across.
» BSU pitchers faced 29 Delaware State hitters in the game, allowing five ground balls and five fly balls while striking out four.
» Edmond led the Bulldogs at the plate, going 1-for-3 with an RBI.
» Delaware State was led offensively by freshman Uxua Modrego Lopez, who went 3-for-3 with a double and two RBI.
» Freshman Mayanah McIntosh led the Lady Hornets pitching staff, throwing seven innings of one-run ball.

Bowie State will host three straight home doubleheaders beginning Friday, Mar. 17 against Bluefield State at 2 p.m., followed by Chestnut Hill on Saturday, Mar. 18 at 1 p.m. and Goldey-Beacom (Mar. 19) at 12 noon at the BSU Softball Field.
