THE SERIES
Bowie State is 16-0 against Washington Adventist entering Thursday's twinbill. The last meeting between the two teams occured on Feb. 16 with the Bulldogs sweeping the Shock by scores of 7-5 and 8-7 in Takoma Park, Md.
BOWIE STATE
BSU (19-9) had a stellar weekend at the conference round-up in Elizabeth City, N.C. The Bulldogs went 6-0, tacking on wins against Winston-Salem State (6-1), St. Augustine's (16-0), Johnson C. Smith (8-0), Claflin (5-1), Livingstone (11-0) and Fayetteville State (5-0). The four shutout victories added to the Bulldogs total of five this season. Akirra Pullen follows with .344, 22 hits and four home runs. Sophomore
Jayla Hill leads the Bulldogs in RBI with 25 to go along with a batting clip of .333, 23 hits and four home runs as well.
In the circle, sophomore Karen Fritges has a ERA of .95 while Pullen and George post 3.56 and 3.79, respectively. Defensively, sophomore
Brittany Brewer has 116 putouts - a team best while sophomore
Sydney Edmond and sophomore
Kayla Evans both have 37 assists on the season.
WASHINGTON ADVENTIST
The Shock (4-11) have not won a game on the road this season at 0-4 entering Thursday's competition. A member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), WAU last competed on Mar. 28 against Salem where the Shock suffered a sweep to the Tigers by scores of 7-1 and 13-3 at home.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
Bowie State begins Northern Division play on Saturday, Apr. 1 at Lincoln (PA). The conference doubleheader is slated to start the first game at 1 p.m.
