THE SERIES
Bowie State and Mansfield meet for the fifth time in program history. The series is tied at 2-2 as the both teams split in 2022 with the Bulldogs tacking on a 13-9 win, followed by a 2-3 setback in game two the doubleheader.
ABOUT THE BULLDOGS
Bowie State (5-5) is coming off a pair of losses to Division I Howard on Wednesday. The Bulldogs fell 17-0 and 18-6 both in five innings. Sophomore Lindsey George has team-high batting clip of .480, to go along with 12 hits, 11 runs scored, five RBI and three homeruns. She is the top pitcher for the Bulldogs with 17 strikeouts and an ERA of 6.12 in 34 innings pitched.
BSU will look to snap a four game losing skid against the Mountaineers on Sunday.
SCOUTING THE MOUNTAINEERS
Mansfield enters the weekend 2-0, coming off a pair of wins over Chestnut Hill back on Feb. 26. The Mountaineers claimed a 5-0 win in the opener and a 6-4 decision in the nightcap. Kayla Vonstein has a batting clip of .500 and team-best three hits, a pair of triples and RBI. During competition against Chestnut Hill, Mansfield has dabbled with two pitchers, Danielle Goff and Annabella Putnam. Putnam has a 4.0 ERA with four strikeouts in seven innings of work.

Bowie State will welcome Bloomsburg on Tuesday, Mar. 7 for a non-conference doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m. from the BSU Softball Field.
