LINCOLN, Pa. - The Bowie State softball team swept the Lady Lions of Lincoln (PA) in Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) division action Sunday afternoon on the road. The Bulldogs won by scores of 1-0 and 7-4 to improve to 23-9 overall and 8-0 in league action.

In game one, the games lone run came in the top fourth when freshman
Trinity Mizelle hit a line drive to second baseman allowing sophomore
Jayla Hill to score. BSU accounted for four hits as junior
Akirra Pullen (7-4) took home the win in the circle, allowing two hits and seven strikeouts.
GAME 2 Bowie State 7, Lincoln (PA) 4
During the nightcap, Bowie State scored two runs that featured a Pullen's fifth home run of the season in the first inning to take a 2-0 lead through three innings. In the fourth, the Bulldogs plated four runs featuring a double from Hill for an RBI and a single from
Aliyah Smith for two RBI.Â
Bowie State held a 5-3 lead going into the bottom fourth until LUPA added three runs to close the deficit to two. The Lady Lions tacked on a run in the bottom fifth before BSU closed out the contest with a pair of runs ignited by a single from senior
Shanya Gordon and an error by Lincoln (PA) that allowed Gordon to come home.
Gordon was 1-of-2 at bat with two runs scored and an RBI while both Pullen and Smith finished with a pair of RBI. Sophomore
Lindsey George (7-4) picked up the win, allowing four hits, tossing four strikeouts against 15 batters in four innings of work.

Bowie State begins Northern Division play on Saturday, Apr. 1 at Lincoln (PA). The conference doubleheader is slated to start the first game at 1 p.m.
