BOWIE, MD -- Game themes have been set for the 2023 Bowie State Football season, with each contest at Bulldog Stadium featuring a number of ways to show off your Bulldog pride and support community engagement.

The 2023 schedule features four home games, all on Saturday. Below is a complete breakdown of the game themes for the upcoming year:

September 16 vs. Shaw - Alumni Appreciation/Black Out | 1 p.m.
Fans are encouraged to wear Black for the 2023 home opener against the Bears of Shaw. The last time these two teams met at Bulldog Stadium was in 2017 where the Bulldogs suffocated the Bears, 76-7. Bowie State will recognize 2023 Sports Hall of Fame inductees at halftime. 

September 23 vs. St. Augustine's - Health Awareness Day | 1 p.m.
The Bulldogs will host the Falcons of Saint Augustine's for Health Awareness Day. Bowie State will help raise awareness about all health conditions with a emphasis on Breast Cancer, Prostate Cancer, Mental Wellness and self care while understanding health issues as well as mobilize support for action, from the local community to as large as the national and international stage. 

October 7 vs. Virginia State - Homecoming/Gold Rush | 2 p.m.
Bulldog fans are encouraged to wear Gold as we celebrate the 2023 Homecoming game against Virginia State. This will be the first time BSU and VSU hit the gridiron for homecoming since 2018. Bulldog alumni are encouraged to make their way back to campus for pregame festivities all week leading up to the highly-anticipated rivalry game.

October 28 vs. Elizabeth City State - Senior Day/BSU Student Appreciation | 1 p.m.
As their careers near completion, we will celebrate our 2023 senior class prior to the game against Elizabeth City State. At halftime, Bowie State will honor the Spring 2023 Dean's List recipients. It will also be a family weekend as all families of Bowie State students are encouraged to attend.
