Women's Basketball Announces 2023-24 Schedule

BOWIE, MD -- Head coach Shadae Swan announced the full 2023-24 Bowie State women's basketball schedule in conjunction with the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) conference schedule release Thursday afternoon.

The Bulldogs will play all of its 11 home games inside A.C. Jordan Arena and the newly released Kevin Durant basketball court which will also feature a three-game homestand in mid-December. 

Bowie State opens the season with an exhibition contest at George Mason on Nov. 6, followed by the conference challenge at Shippensburg Nov. 10-11 featuring Mansfield, Fayetteville State, Bowie State and Shippensburg. The Bulldogs will take on Mansfield (Nov. 10) and Shippensburg (Nov. 11). 

BSU will remain on the road for the next three games with a trip to Wilmington (Nov. 15), then to Washington, D.C. to take on the University of D.C. (Nov. 18) and then to Shepherd (Nov. 21). 

The Bulldogs home opener will feature a non-conference matchup with California (PA) on Nov. 27. Bowie State will remain at home on Dec. 5 to host Goldey-Beacom before getting back on the road to make a trip to Claflin (Dec. 9) - that game will mark the conference opener for the Bulldogs.

CIAA cross-division action will continue with the Bulldogs three-game homestand featuring Johnson C. Smith (Dec. 12), Winston-Salem State (Dec. 14) and Livingstone (Dec. 16). 

Just before the Christmas break, Bowie State will get the opportunity to spend some time in warm weather at the Lynn Basketball Classic as the Bulldogs will take on Palm Beach Atlantic and Lynn on Dec. 19-20 in Boca Raton, Fla.

The last game of the 2023 portion of the schedule will be a road game for BSU at Frostburg State on Dec. 31.

BSU will begin the New Year with a three-game road slate with stops at Fayetteville State (Jan. 4) and St. Augustine's (Jan. 6). The Bulldogs will face Shaw on Jan. 15 for the Martin Luther, Jr. Classic in Columbia, S.C.

Division play will begin Jan. 20 when the Bulldogs host rival Lincoln (PA) before getting back on the road to take on division foes om a three-game road trip at Virginia Union (Jan. 24), Elizabeth City State (Jan. 27) and Bluefield State (Feb. 3). The Bulldogs will host Virginia State on Jan. 31 in A.C. Jordan Arena and the last game for the month of January.

The next three games will be home contests for the Bulldogs when ECSU and VUU come to A.C. Jordan Arena on Feb. 10 and Feb. 14. On Feb. 17, BSU will also host the Big Blues before closing out the regular season with two road games at VSU on Feb. 21, followed by a meeting at the Lions (LUPA) den (Feb. 24).

The CIAA Tournament will be held on Feb. 26 through Mar. 2 at CFG Bank Arena in Baltimore, Md.
