PETERSBURG, VA --The Bowie State volleyball team fell Saturday as the Winston-Salem State Rams posted a four set (22-25, 13-25, 25-23, 22-25) victory at the VSU Multipurpose Center day one of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Round-Up.
The loss dropped Bowie State's record to 2-13Â overall and in 0-2 CIAA play.
Nina Edwards finished with nine kills on the day to lead the Bulldogs offense. Defensively, had four players reach double figures in digs, highlighted by Tristynn Kerr's 17, 11 from Bracey Gross, and 10 more from Iman Wright.

SET 2 | A 25-13 second-set loss put Bowie State behind 2-0 in the match. The Bulldogs fell behind on the first point and never clawed back into the lead before dropping the set.
SET 3 | Bowie State stayed alive with a win in set three to make it a 2-1 match. The Bulldogs persevered in a back-and-forth set to win 25-23 in a stanza that featured six lead changes and was tied 13 times. Neither team opened up a lead of more than three points along the way. The Bowie State offense also got a boost from four aces in the stanza.
SET 4 | BSU couldn't keep the momentum and lost in set four 25-22 to drop the match. The Bulldogs couldn't hang on in a back-and-forth set, losing in a stanza that featured five lead changes and was tied eight times. Neither team opened up a lead of more than four points along the way.

The Bulldogs will close out the CIAA Round-Up with a pair matches against Johnson C. Smith at 9 a.m., followed by Shaw at 3 p.m.
