LAKEWOOD, NJ --The Bowie State women's volleyball team could not overcome a potent Georgian Court offense Friday night on the road falling to Lions in three sets (19-25, 8-25, 14-25) at the GCU Wellness Center. The Bulldogs would conclude the tri-match with Georgian Court and St. Thomas Aquinas 0-2 on the day.
The non-conference loss moved Bowie State to 0-6 on the season while the Lions improved to 3-2 overall and 2-0 in today's tri-match.
Freshman Madyson Brinson finished with eight kills to lead the Bulldogs offense while finishing with a hitting percentage of .263. Freshman Ayana Johnson finished with six digs to lead the team defensively.

» Freshman Tristynn Kerr had a team-high one ace in the loss.
» Bowie State attackers were helped by a team-high nine assists from freshman Mekenna Scott.
How It Happened
SET 1 | The Bulldogs fell behind early, losing a tough first set 25-19. Bowie State trailed by as many as nine points as Georgian Court never surrendered the lead in a set that was tied up zero times before the Lions took control.
SET 2 | Similar to the first set, the Bulldogs fell behind on the first point and never took the lead before dropping the set, 25-8 and a 2-0 deficit in the match.
SET 3 | Bowie State trailed by as many as 11 points before Georgian Court grabbed the advantage for good at 6-5 in a set that was tied up three times before the Lions took over the lead. BSU battled in a tough set but ultimately fell, 25-14 for the three-set loss.
