BOWIE, MD --The Bowie State women's volleyball team dominated to pick up a 3-0 sweep (25-15, 25-21, 25-17) over the Lincoln University (PA) Lions (1-13,0-4 CIAA) Monday at home inside the A.C. Jordan Arena.
The conference victory improved BSU's record to (6-15) overall and 3-6 in CIAA action, while LUPA drops to 1-13 overall and 0-4 in the conference.
Nina Edwards finished with seven kills on the day to lead the Bulldogs offense while finishing with a hitting percentage of .455. To add on, Haley Pelham recorded a season-high two aces.Defensively,Taylor Johnson lead the team with 13 digs.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Bulldogs jumped out to an early lead, methodically winning the first set 25-15. Bowie State never trailed by more than five points and grabbed the advantage for good at 8-7 in a set that showcased two lead changes before the Bulldogs took over the lead.
SET 2 | Bowie State won set two 25-21 to promptly take a 2-0 lead. The Bulldogs took the set powered by a strong showing on the attacking side. Bowie State registered a .367 attack percentage with 16 kills in the set win. After the lead changed hands two times, the Bulldogs took control for good at 21-20 and rode that advantage to victory. Bowie State's front row had a solid defensive performance, blocking five Lincoln (PA) attacks in the stanza.
SET 3 | Bowie State then sealed the sweep with a victory in set number three. The Bulldogs grabbed the set 25-17. Bowie State took the lead for good at 15-14 in a set that showcased two lead changes before the Bulldogs took over in the second half of the stanza. The Bowie State offense also got a boost from three aces in the stanza. Bowie State's front row had a solid defensive performance, blocking four Lincoln (PA) attacks in the stanza.

Bowie State will travel on Saturday, Oct 26-27 to Petersburg Va., for it's second and final CIAA Round-Up of the season. The Bulldogs will take on ClaflinUniversity at 3 p.m. on Saturday (Oct. 26), followed by Winston-Salem State University (Oct. 26) and Johnson C. Smith University on Sunday (Oct.27) at 11a.m. and 3 p.m.
