BOWIE, MD—The Bowie State men's basketball team gear up for a cross-town battle against the University of the District of Columbia for a non-conference matchup on Wednesday, December 4, inside of A.C. Jordan Arena. This will be the nightcap game of a doubleheader featuring the women's game beginning at 5:00 p.m.

Scouting Bowie State
Bowie State (5-4) is currently ranked third in the Central Intercollegiate Athletics Association (CIAA) in blocks per game (4.7) and top four in assists per game (14.6). The Bulldogs are also ranked fourth in steals per game (10.6), proving to be a formidable team defensively in the CIAA conference.
Amare Wimbush leads the Bulldogs in scoring and rebounds, averaging 12.6 points per game and 5.1 rebounds.
Elijah Davis leads the Bulldogs in assists and steals with 3.4 assists per game and 2.4 steals per game.
Last Time Out for the Bulldogs
The Bulldogs are currently on a two-game win streak after clawing back from a 16-point deficit and defeating the Shippensburg Red Raiders 75-74.
Warren Mouganda dropped a season-high 28 points, shooting 67 percent from the field and 75 percent from behind the arc.
Justin Morrisey was the only other Bulldog that scored in double figures with 12 points coming off the bench. Davis and Corey Barnes played stout defense with four steals. BSU received 34 points off the bench in the victory.
Scouting University of the District of Columbia
University of the District of Columbia (2-4) plays in the East Coast Conference (ECC), where they were predicted to finish fifth in the conference under the leadership of head coach Mike Riley. UDC has the fourth-best defense in ECC, allowing 78.1 points per game. The Firebirds are led by Khyrie Staten, who is the team's leading scorer with 16.7 points per game. Tevin Curtis is second in scoring with 11.2 points per game.

The Firebirds enter Wednesday's contest after dropping their second straight game, falling to Holy Family University, 71-56, inside the UDC Sports Complex in Washington, D.C. UDC was led by Staten offensively, with 20 points, three rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Elijah Crawford made an impact down low with 13 points, seven rebounds, and three assists. Bowie State will be the second CIAA program UDC will face this season after losing to Virginia Union 66-52 earlier this season.
