Hinckley, Paul, Jr. to Participate in 2024 HBCU Legacy Bowl Game Saturday

BOWIE, MD -- Keshane Hinckley and Uvel Paul, Jr. of Bowie State football will participate in the 2024 HBCU Legacy Bowl game on Saturday, Feb. 24 on the campus of Tulane University. Kickoff is slated for 4 p.m. (ET) from Yulman Stadium in New Orleans, La. 

Hinckley is the programs second all-time leader in receiving yards with over 2,078 yards total for his career. He racked up 595 yards on 55 receptions and five TDs in 10 games started for 2023. Hinckley has had seven games with at least five receptions including a season-high 11 at Davenport while his best game yardage wise was against Delaware State where he poured in 101 yards including a long of 39 on seven catches. He scored a season-high two TDs against Lincoln (PA) on eight catches for 95 yards most recently.The Laurel, Md., native led the CIAA in reception per game (5.5) and total receptions (55) while his receiving yards ranked fourth in the CIAA in 2023.

Paul, Jr. recorded 31 total tackles (16 solo), 7.5 tackle for loss (42-yards) and four sacks (35-yards) in 2023. The Severn, Md., native combined for 73 tackles, including 42 solor and 31 assisted to go along with 17 TFL (105-yards), 12.5 sacks (93-yards), four passes defended, a pair of forced fumbles and a forced fumble during his career wearing the black and gold. 

TEAM GAITHER named after legendary Florida A&M University football coach Jake Gaither is made up of the CIAA and MEAC for TEAM GAITHER. The head coaches are Alvin Parker of Virginia Union and Larry Scott of Howard.  As for TEAM ROBINSON, named after legendary Grambling State University football coach Eddie Robinson made up of the SIAC and SWAC features co-head coaches Chennis Berry of Benedict (now South Carolina State) and Bubba McDowell (Prairie View A&M).

The HBCU Legacy Bowl, presented by the Black College Football Hall of Fame, is a postseason all-star game highlighting the best NFL draft-eligible football players from Historically Black Colleges and Universities. It will be broadcast live on NFL Network. More than a football game, the weeklong celebration of Black culture and history will provide invaluable exposure for HBCU students.
