BOWIE, MD --- The Bowie State women's tennis team open travel to Richmond for the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Round-up hosted by Virginia Union on Saturday, Mar. 16 through Sunday Mar. 17 at William Byrd Park. This round-up will serve as the season opener for the Bulldogs for the 2024 season.

The Round-Up Schedule
The Bulldogs are slated to face the defending champions, the Shaw Lady Bears on Saturday at 12 p.m. and Livingstone at 6 p.m. On Sunday (Mar. 17), the Bulldogs will matchup against Johnson C. Smith at 12 noon followed by a 6 p.m. tilt with Winston Salem State.
About the Bulldogs
BSU has four returning players from a season ago, which include seniors
Abner Dickson,
Afruica Gentle,
Denaij Rose and
Kayla Lowery. The Bulldogs welcome one new addition
Verniece Herndon. Bowie State is coming off a 7-8 finish in 2023 and 5-5 mark in the CIAA. Gentle was the lone Bulldog that made the All-Conference team as BSU fell to Winston-Salem State, 4-3 in the quarterfinal round of the conference tournament.
Bowie State is led by Todd Byrom in his second season at the helm.

Following the CIAA Round-Up, Bowie State will travel remain on the road to take on Virginia Union in a CIAA division opener on Mar. 19 at 1 p.m.
