BOWIE, MD --- Bowie State head football Kyle Jackson announced the hiring of Quinn Brown on Thursday to serve as the Bulldogs offensive line coach.

"I'm excited to have Quinn Brown join Bulldog Nation!," said Jackson. "He brings a wealth of knowledge at the offensive line position. Quinn has coached at multiple levels and has had success with his units. He brings a different dynamic that will help us grow as a program."

Brown comes to Bowie after spending a season as the offensive line coach at Virginia Union. During his first year at VUU, the Panthers went 10-2 overall, claiming the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Conference championship and appearing in the NCAA playoffs. The Panthers' high-powered offense led the CIAA in scoring, rushing yards, and rushing touchdowns as well as being No. 2 in passing efficiency and top-3 in passing touchdowns in the league. At the center of the Panther's high-powered offense was a stable offensive line that saw eight different linemen get their names called into the starting rotation which led to three different backs earning CIAA Offensive Back of the Week accolades, including First Team All-CIAA running back Jada Byers. Brown coached Justin Meade and Jamaree Moyer who both earned First Team All-CIAA Offensive Line. Additionally,  true freshman right tackle Mathias Nielsen received Second Team All-CIAA and All-Rookie Team. Meade was also recognized for his performance earning CIAA Offensive Line of Year and First Team HBCU All-American during 2023.

Before Virginia Union, Brown served as the assistant head coach, run game coordinator, and offensive line coach at Henderson State in Arkadelphia, Ark., from 2019-2022. Brown was apart of a Reddies program that went a combined 26-8 and was nationally ranked in several offensive statistics. Under Brown's guidance, Henderson State averaged 33 points, 444 yards, 235 passing yards, and 209 rushing yards per game. The Reddies were one of only four teams in all of NCAA Division II to average over 235 passing yards and 200 rushing yards per game led by two All-Great American Conference (GAC) offensive linemen in center Conner Justus and guard Blaise Smith. In 2021, Henderson State averaged 40.55 points, 494 yards, 311 passing yards, and 183 rushing yards per game, ranking fourth in total offense and seventh in scoring offense in the nation. Additionally, Brown had two Reddies make All-GAC in offensive linemen in tackle Blake Dybala and center Hunter Nobbs.  In Brown's first season at Henderson State, the Reddies' offensive line gave up just 12 sacks for the year despite throwing nearly 400 drop-back passes. The offensive line blocked and led a unit that finished third in the GAC in scoring offense and averaged 31.7 points per game. Leading the charge up front was All-GAC performers in guard Izak Faoa and tackle Clifford Jackson.

Prior to Henderson State, Brown spent two seasons as the offensive line coach, recruiting and camp coordinator at William Jewell College in Liberty, Mo. The Cardinals made significant improvements cutting its season sack total in half from 40 sacks to only 20 sacks in Brown's first season. Those results turned into two offensive linemen being voted All-Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) performers in guard Jake Kapustka and center Cade Cumbie. Brown also started and managed the William Jewell Mega camp with 75 colleges/universities and over 500 high school prospects in attendance.   

Brown spent five years as a graduate assistant at the Division II, FCS, and FBS level specifically working with the offensive line and tight end positions including William Jewel, Northern Colorado, and Wyoming. 

A graduate of the University of Missouri with a bachelor's in General Studies, Brown played all four seasons at Mizzou, where he began his career as a quarterback before transitioning to the offensive line for his final three seasons. The Tigers won the Big 12 North Division title in both 2008 and 2010. Brown earned his master's degree in Adult and Post-Secondary Education from the University of Wyoming in 2017. He and his wife Mikalah have one dog, Dreka (7).
