BALTIMORE, MD -- The Bowie State women's volleyball team put up a great fight but ultimately fell to the Morgan State Lady Bears in three sets (14-25, 28-30, 21-25) Tuesday on the road at Hill Field House.
The non-conference loss moved the Bulldogs to 1-4 on the season while the win was the first of the 2024 season for the Lady Bears (1-7).
Nina Edwards finished with six kills on the day to lead the Bulldogs attack while finishing with a hitting percentage of .400. BSU got six digs from Trinity Loundmon to lead them defensively.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Bulldogs found themselves in an early deficit, dropping a tough first set 25-14. BSU trailed by as many as 11 points as Morgan State never gave up the lead in a set that was tied up zero times before the Lady Bears took control.
SET 2 | Bowie State then dropped the second set 30-28 to fall behind in the match two sets to none. The Bulldogs couldn't hang on in a back-and-forth set, losing in a stanza that featured 10 lead changes and was tied 19 times. Neither team led by more than three points along the way.
SET 3 | MSU finished the sweep with a third-set victory. The Bulldogs came up short by the score of 25-21. Morgan State grabbed the advantage for good at 18-17 in a set that was knotted up three times before the Lady Bears took over in the second half of the stanza.
