The Short Story
The Bowie State men's and women's cross-country teams concluded its 2025 season at the CIAA Cross Country Championship, held at Green Hill Park in Salem, Va. The men's squad led the program, finishing eighth overall, while the women's team secured 10th place.
The Finish Line
Kamren Branch paced the men's squad with a 16th-place finish in 28:57.3. Aiden Geron followed two minutes later, securing a top-30 finish at 30:17.7. Markell Yarborough (51st, 34:11.9) and Kenneth Mcleish (58th, 35:42.2) added to the scoring, while Ryan Stewart finished 64th with a time of 36:53.1.
Kaniyah Ervin led the women's squad, finishing 35th with a time of 23:33.7, followed closely by Ugonna Ibegwam in 39th at 23:47.7. Destiny Lewis and Fisayo Sule finished back-to-back in 51st and 52nd place, clocking times of 25:21.0 and 26:07.5, respectively. Summyr Williams rounded out the team, crossing the finish line in 68th place with a time of 44:02.9.
Season Overview
The Bulldogs competed in five meets during the 2025 campaign, posting strong performances at each outing. Emetem Bezezuh led the women's squad in every meet, recording a season-best time of 23:29.8 at the LVC Dutchmen Cross Country Invite. Sean Trader was the first Bulldog to cross the finish line in three of the team's five meets, posting a season-best 18:16 at the Delaware State Sting Invitational. Kamren Branch served as the men's front-runner over the last two meets, recording a personal-best 18:02 at the Howard Invitational.
