BOWIE, MD -- The Bowie State University softball team is set to compete in the HBCU Softball Classic, featuring teams from the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) and Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC), from Friday, February 14, to Sunday, February 16, 2025. The three-day event will take place at Tyger River Park in Duncan, S.C.

Bowie State Quick Hits
- Head Coach Ed Powell enters his fifth season leading the Bulldogs after winning his second straight conference championship at BSU in 2024.
- Powell guided the Bulldogs to a 20-23 overall record and an 11-5 mark in the CIAA, which led to a conference championship and an NCAA appearance.
- The Bulldogs are led by senior Lindsey George, the 2023 CIAA Player of the Year, along with senior Jayla Hill, a two-time All-CIAA outfielder. Sophomore Presleigh Braxton, a 2024 All-CIAA Rookie Team selection, also returns to strengthen the roster.
- BSU was picked to finish first in the 2025 CIAA Preseason Poll.
