BALTIMORE, MD – The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) announced its 2024-25 Men's Basketball All-CIAA Teams and major award winners. Bowie State's junior guard Amare Wimbush was named All-CIAA Backcourt declared at the annual tip-off banquet Sunday.

The Landover, Md., native averaged 12.6 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 1.0 blocks per game over 25 games, shooting an efficient 45.0% from the field. His consistency in the paint made him one of the most reliable backcourt players in the conference. In CIAA play, he maintained his high level of production, contributing 12.5 points and 5.7 rebounds per game while improving his free-throw percentage to 69%.

His best game was against the Big Blue scoring 30 points, eight rebounds on 11-19 shooting and 8-12 from the free throw line. He has appeared in 25 games and started 20 for the Bulldogs this season.

The Bowie State men's basketball team (15-13, 7-9 CIAA) finished 5-5 in the Northern Division, earning the No. 5 seed from the North and will take on the No. 4 seed of the South - SLivingstone College (12-15, 4-12 CIAA, 3-7 South) on Tuesday, Feb. 25 at 6:40 p.m. The winner of the opening round will face the No. 1 seed Virginia State (North) on Wednesday, Feb. 26 at 6:40 p.m. from CFG Bank Arena.
