Last Time Out
In game one, Bowie State struggled offensively against Charleston (WV), managing just three hits in a 9-1 loss. Freshman Presleigh Braxton scored the Bulldogs' only run in the fourth inning, while Coreena Dunham and Taylor Dawkins recorded extra-base hits. The Bulldogs also committed three errors, allowing the Golden Eagles to extend their lead.
Game two saw Bowie State take an early 6-2 lead against West Virginia State, fueled by Braxton's two-hit performance and Dawkins' key extra-base hit and stolen base. However, WVSU mounted a comeback with four runs in the sixth inning, ultimately securing an 8-7 victory.
The Bulldogs notched their lone win in game three, defeating Ashland 6-2. Dunham led off the game with a solo home run, while Ariana Ellerson delivered a clutch two-out RBI single in the seventh to seal the win. Bowie State's pitching staff held Ashland scoreless in the final innings to preserve the victory.
In the final game of the weekend, Glenville State jumped out to a 5-0 lead before Bowie State responded with a late rally. Jayla Hill homered in the sixth, and Braxton drove in two runs in the seventh, but the Bulldogs fell short in a 7-3 defeat to close out the weekend.
