MILLERSVILLE, PA – Bowie State softball (4-11) split a doubleheader with Millersville (14-4) on Thursday, March 13 as the Bulldogs fell 3-2 in a tight first game before securing a 2-1 victory in the second game at Seaber Softball Stadium.
Game One – Millersville 3, Bowie State 2
Bulldogs' pitcher Lindsey George took the loss, going five innings and allowing three earned runs on four hits. The right-hander did not issue any walks and struck out five.
Jayla Hill led the BSU at the plate, going 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Taylor Dawkins also finished 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Bowie State took an early lead, scoring twice in the third inning on run-scoring doubles from Hill and Dawkins. However, Millersville responded with three runs over the final four innings to claim a 3-2 victory.
Game Two – Bowie State 2, Millersville 1
In the second game, Ryalee Dillard earned the win for the Bulldogs, pitching five innings and allowing one run on two hits. The Harrisburg, Pa., native issued two walks and struck out four. Sydney Seals also contributed in the circle, tossing two scoreless innings with two hits allowed, one walk, and three strikeouts.
The Bulldogs struck first in the fifth inning, as George's two-run single brought home Margaret-Malaika Weavers and Dawkins to give BSU a 2-0 lead. The Marauders managed one run late, but the Bulldogs held on for a 2-1 win.

Bowie State will return home for an action-packed weekend, hosting PSAC members Mansfield University on Saturday, March 15 and Bloomsburg University on Sunday, March 16. Both games will start at noon and will take place at BSU Softball Field.
