BOWIE, MD — Bowie State University junior Amare Wimbush has been named to the 2024-25 HBCU Division II All-American Basketball Team, Boxtorow announced Wednesday.

Wimbush started 22 of the 27 games played this season, averaging 12.5 points and 6.0 rebounds per game. The Landover, Md., native shot 44.6% from the field while making an impact defensively with 21 blocks and 25 steals.

"I'm incredibly proud of Amare for being selected to the HBCU All-American team," said head coach Darrell Brooks. "He put in tremendous work over the summer and pre-season and was a great leader for our team. It's rewarding to see his efforts recognized."

In conference play, Wimbush elevated his game, shooting 44.8% from the field. The junior forward's ability to control the boards and provide crucial scoring opportunities made him an essential part of the Bulldogs lineup throughout the season.
