BOWIE, MD. -- Bowie State University senior guard Destiny Ryles has been named to the 2025 All-Atlantic Region Women's Basketball Team, the Division II Conference Commission Association (D2CCA) announced Thursday morning.

"Destiny is an incredible athlete and person," said head coach Shadae Swan. "While many focus on her scoring ability, she is one of the most unselfish scorers I've ever coached. Despite being able to score at-will, she takes pride in getting her teammates involved and putting them in positions to succeed. As a small guard, she wasn't afraid to crash the boards either."

Ryles was a dominant force for the Bulldogs, leading the team in scoring with 19.1 points per game. The Baltimore, Md., native also contributed 4.4 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 3.6 steals per contest. Demonstrating her scoring versatility, she shot 36.8% from the field and made 35 three-pointers. A relentless competitor, Ryles played in all 29 games, starting 28, and averaged 30.2 minutes per game. At the free-throw line, she was a reliable asset, converting 73% of her attempts on a team-high 274 trips.

"It's rare to find a player who can score, assist, and rebound at her size and level," added Swan. "Her unselfishness and determination to do whatever it took to win made her a standout. It was a pleasure coaching Destiny this past year—she left a lasting mark on this program and will truly be missed." 

In conference play, Ryles averaged 18.6 points per game and improving her three-point shooting to 33.3%. She recorded 55 steals in 16 CIAA games, proving her impact on both ends of the floor. Her ability to take over games was evident in crucial matchups, including a standout performance in the CIAA Tournament, where she played a key role in the Bulldogs' deep postseason run.
