BOWIE, MD – The Bowie State softball team (15-14, 9-0 CIAA, 4-0 North) will be traveling to Wilmington, Del., to battle the Lightning of Goldey-Beacom (19-9, 4-4 CACC) for a non-conference doubleheader at the Jackson Athletic Complex. Game one is set for 2 p.m.

Bulldogs Last Timeout
On Senior Day, Bowie State swept Virginia Union (5-20, 2-5 CIAA, 0-2 North) with 9-1 and 11-8 victories at BSU Softball Field.
Lindsey George dominated game one, striking out seven over six innings while allowing just one run on three hits. Jayla Hill's RBI double sparked the offense, followed by Coreena Dunham's two-run single and Mikayla Amos' first collegiate home run. Dunham's solo homer in the sixth sealed the win.
In game two, Ryalee Dillard earned the win with six strikeouts over five innings. Ja'chelle Mosley led the offense, going 3-for-4 with four RBIs, while Taylor Dawkins added a home run. A four-run sixth, highlighted by Mosley's two-run double, secured the victory despite a late push from Virginia Union.
About Bowie State
Dunham leads the Bulldog offense, hitting .383 with 31 hits, five homers, and 18 stolen bases, while Hill (.352, 6 HR, 24 RBIs) and Presleigh Braxton (.318, 6 doubles, 8 SB) adds firepower. Speed and smart baserunning remain key strengths, while defensively, Dunham, Hill, and Braxton boast perfect 1.000 fielding percentages, contributing to the team's .948 mark.
On the mound, Dillard (7-1 record, 2.94 ERA) leads the staff, while George (49 strikeouts, 59.2 IP) and Sydney Seals (3 saves) provide depth.
Lightnings Last Outing
Bryn Bohmann delivered a clutch two-out, two-run single in the seventh, securing Goldey-Beacom's 4-3 walk-off win over Georgian Court after a 9-1 loss in the opener at the Jackson Complex in Wilmington, DE.
Down 3-1 in the final inning, the Lightning loaded the bases before Ryann Soltis drew a walk to make it a one-run game. Bohmann then lined a full-count single to right-center, driving in McKenna Frank and Delaney Insinga for the dramatic win.
Scouting Goldey-Beacom
The Goldey-Beacom Lightning have had a strong start to the 2025 season, posting an 18-9 record while hitting .306 as a team. Wynter Radcliffe leads the offensive effort with a .420 average, 21 hits, 5 doubles, 1 home run, and 7 RBIs, while Bryn Bohmann adds power, batting .354 with 8 doubles, 2 triples, 1 home run, and 16 RBIs. Insinga has also been a key contributor, hitting .351 with 27 hits and 4 RBIs.
Defensively, Radcliffe, Bohmann, and several others have been standouts with perfect 1.000 fielding percentages, helping the team maintain a strong .973 fielding percentage overall.
In the circle, Caitlyn Burch has been the most reliable pitcher, holding a 10-2 record with a 2.06 ERA over 81.2 innings, striking out 86 while limiting opponents to a .206 batting average. Morgan McLane has also been solid, posting a 5-0 record with a 2.58 ERA and 37 strikeouts in 35.1 innings, while Alesia Doctor has contributed with a 2.97 ERA over 30.2 innings.
