Brown Named Assistant Athletic Trainer

BOWIE, MD -- The Department of Athletics at Bowie State University is pleased to announce the hiring of Jordan Brown as the new Assistant Athletic Trainer, Brown will officially begin his tenure on April 2. A Philadelphia native, Brown brings a strong background in sports medicine and a commitment to athlete health and performance.

"The Sports Medicine Department is excited to welcome Jordan Brown as our new Assistant Athletic Trainer," said Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine Courtnee Springs. "His experience and dedication to supporting athlete health will be a huge asset. We're looking forward to seeing the positive impact he will have on our athletes and program."

Brown began his career at Proflex Physical Therapy, where he worked with student-athletes at Thomas Stone High School from 2021 to 2022. He then joined Hamilton Sports Medicine in Georgia, serving as the athletic trainer for North Murray High School from 2022 to 2025.

A certified BLS CPR Instructor and active member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association, Brown is dedicated to advancing athlete care and injury prevention. In his new role, he will support the Head Athletic Trainer in injury prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation for student-athletes. His responsibilities include providing emergency care, first aid, and injury evaluations, as well as overseeing rehabilitation programs and maintaining injury records. Additionally, Brown will help coordinate medical care, enforce safety measures, and support educational programs on health and wellness.

"I'm really excited for this opportunity at such a great institution and can't wait to get started," Brown said.

Brown earned his bachelor's degree in athletic training with a minor in nutrition from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
