Robinson Named to 2025 Black College Football Player of the Year Watch List

ATLANTA, GA – Bowie State University running back Micah Robinson has been named to the 2025 Black College Football Player of the Year Award Watch List, announced Tuesday morning by the Black College Football Hall of Fame.

Robinson, a rising redshirt sophomore from Baltimore, Md., is among 50 student-athletes from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and one of eight from the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) named to the watch list. The award honors the most outstanding player from an HBCU program each season.

The reigning CIAA Rookie of the Year helped lead the Bulldogs to a 6-4 record in 2024. He rushed for 763 yards on 118 carries with five touchdowns, highlighted by a season-long 57-yard run against Elizabeth City State on Nov. 2. Robinson posted career highs in rushing yards (181) and rushing touchdowns (4) against ECSU, as well as receiving yards (58) and receiving touchdowns (2) against B-State.

A key leader in the Bulldogs' ground game, Robinson ranked second in the CIAA with a 6.0 yards-per-carry average.
