DISTRICT HEIGHTS, MD – Members of the Bowie State University football team brought energy and excitement to Francis Scott Key Elementary School in District Heights, Md., on Monday, Aug. 25, to help kick off the new school year.
Junior offensive lineman
Elijah Jackson reflected on the experience, stating, "I really enjoyed being able to show up for the kids on their first day, especially somewhere so close to home. Being able to pass out supplies and just try to get them excited for the new year was a great experience."
The student-athletes greeted pre-K through eighth-grade students as they returned to school, engaging them with games, conversations, and interactive activities. To cap off the celebration, the team launched confetti cannons, adding excitement to the morning and creating a memorable start to the school year.
