Bulldogs Battle but Fall to Nova Southeastern in Three Sets

ST. PETERSBURG, FL - The Bowie State women's volleyball team (1-8, 0-0 CIAA) came up short against Nova Southeastern (6-2, 0-0 Sunshine State) on Thursday night, dropping a 3-0 decision (25-14, 25-19, 25-15) inside the McArthur Center.

The Sharks used a fast start in the opening set, but BSU broke through with a kill from Madyson Brinson and later added points from Lyric Snowden and Nicole Taylor to keep pace. NSU held on to secure the frame, 25-14.

Bowie State showed its best rally in the second set. After an early kill from Nina Edwards gave the Bulldogs the first point, Snowden and Nadira Avery combined for timely kills, while Snowden added a service ace to trim the deficit late. The Bulldogs closed the gap to 24-19 before Nova capitalized on a miscue to take the set.

In the third, BSU battled back from an early 4-0 hole behind kills from Taylor and Avery, followed by a block from Brinson and Trinity Loundmon. Snowden chipped in with another ace to keep the Bulldogs within striking distance, but the Sharks used a late surge to seal the match, 25-15.
