BOWIE, MD --- The Department of Athletics at Bowie State University will strictly enforce a clear bag policy at Bulldog Stadium and A.C. Jordan Arena for athletic events for 2025-26. The move was made in conjunction with the Bowie State Campus Police, according to the announcement, and regulates the size and type of bag that may be carried into the facilities. The athletics department noted the policy is consistent with those in many CIAA and non-conference venues.
In addition to the clear bag policy, the Bowie State Athletics Ticket Office will only be accepting card payments. There will be no cash payments for any home football games for 202. BSU Athletics Ticket Office will not accept cash at the ticket box office on game day. Bulldog Nation is encouraged to purchase tickets in advance and online, click HERE!
A clear bag policy will be instituted at all Bowie State Football, Men's Basketball, and Women's Basketball games. Policy details are included below:
Single-game tickets are now on sale, with general admission being $25. Bowie State has instituted a clear bag policy this season. Clear bags smaller than 12"x6"x12" are subject to search. Diaper bags and fanny packs are permitted.

ADVANCED TICKET SALES - Fans can purchase tickets online at https://tickets.bowiestate.edu/. Ticket prices are $25 for general admission.
WILL CALL AND PASS LIST TICKETS - May be picked up beginning 1 hours prior to kickoff at the will call booth. ID is required.
BSU STUDENTS - Your ID is your ticket. Valid for general student section seating.
GATES - Open two hours prior to kickoff. Bulldog Stadium has a NO re-entry policy.
PERMITTED/PROHIBITED ITEMS
Effective for the 2025 football season, only clear bags will be permitted inside Bulldog Stadium.
BAG POLICY:
- Fans will only be able to carry the following style and size bags into the stadium, all of which are subject to search.
- Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC and do not exceed 12" x 6" x 12"
- One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar)
- Small clutch bags, measuring 4.5" x 6.5" with or without a handle or strap
- All other bags will not be permitted. A list of prohibited bags includes but is not limited to: purses, backpacks, drawstring bags that are not clear, briefcases, coolers, fanny packs, luggage, computer bags, camera bags, binocular cases, and diaper bags. Guests are encouraged to return unauthorized items to their vehicles. Bowie State University cannot safeguard items that are not permitted into the stadium.
PROHIBITED ITEMS (IN-STADIUM):
ACTIONS
- Behavior that interferes with other guests' ability to enjoy the event, including threatening and abusive language, fighting, kicking, wrestling, etc.
- Consuming or possessing alcohol or other controlled substances not in authorized areas
- Propelling objects in any manner
- Smoking, including e-cigarettes and vaping, including tobacco products of any kind
- Standing or sitting in aisles, ramps, portals, and walkways
- Failure to follow the instructions of Bowie State Event Staff may lead to ejection and/or loss of ticket privileges.
ITEMS
- Alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs of any type not in authorized areas
- Backpacks
- Bags, including diaper bags, purses, and string bags that are not clear and do not meet stadium policy
- Banners/Signs/Posters(except in the designated area–south end zone row one)
- Bicycles (except for Police and EMS personnel)
- Cameras larger than 8.5"x11"x11"
- Containers, including cans/bottles/coolers/flasks
- Food
- Knives or razor blades of any size, including folding blades or Swiss Army
- Noisemakers (whistles, sirens, etc.)
- Objects that may become projectiles
- Objects that obstruct the view of other fans
- Outside food or beverages
- Pets (except registered service animals to assist Persons with Disabilities) - Advanced notification is requested
- Poles, sticks, selfie sticks (except canes to assist Persons with Disabilities)
- Stadium chairs (chairs with backs), except those without pockets that can be rolled up
- Tripods
- Umbrellas
- Water Bottles (opened, unopened, reusable, etc.)
- Weapons, fireworks, laser pointers
- Wristlets larger than 4"x6"x1" (wristlets larger are not permitted inside a clear bag)
- All items brought into the stadium are subject to inspection. There are no provisions for storing/ checking prohibited items at the gates or on-site. Items left unattended at the entry gates will be discarded and are unrecoverable.
PARKING & TAILGATING
- All tailgating rules apply to all parking lots and designated tailgating areas on campus.
- Tailgate Lot J opens at 6 am.
- All state and local laws must be observed.
- Tailgating is for one parking space only (unless purchased multiple).
- Persons acting in a disruptive, disrespectful or disorderly manner may be asked to leave the premises and/or be subject to a citation from the University, City or County Law Enforcement. Students will be subject to the Bowie State University Student Code of Conduct.
- Trash must be placed in the appropriate trash receptacles.
- Grills should be attended to at all times. Fires on the ground and fire pits are strictly prohibited. Fire extinguishers are recommended.
- Pets should be leashed at all times and are not permitted inside Bulldog Stadium.
- Electronically amplified sound system or musical instruments that produces a sound that is clearly audible at fifty feet within a designated tailgate parking lot are prohibited.
- Kegs are prohibited, and glass bottles are strongly discouraged.
- Bowie State is a tobacco-free campus. No smoking is allowed.
- Do not move or remove any traffic control barricades or devices.
- Bowie State University is not responsible or liable for accidents, damage, loss or theft of materials/items/personal property.
PARKING INFORMATION
Parking is available in Lots H, I, and S at no charge. For handicap accessibility, shuttle services will be provided from Lot I.

PROHIBITED
Overnight parking is prohibited in any BSU parking lot or grounds. Cargo trucks, flat bed trailers, any type of trailer, fifth wheel campers, limousines, food vending trucks, boats, boat trailers and U-hauls are prohibited and will be asked to leave the parking areas. Off-road vehicles such as All-Terrain Vehicles (ATV's), Segways, and unauthorized golf carts are also prohibited. Vehicles must fit in a designated parking space. BSU reserves the right to remove any unauthorized vehicle from the premises. Contact BSU Security at 301-860-4040.
TAILGATING
ALCOHOL
- Is strongly discouraged in any tailgate area between the opening kickoff and the end of the game. The following rules apply to alcohol consumption in the tailgate areas during acceptable pre- and post-game hours:
- No alcohol outside the tailgate area. Carrying of alcoholic containers or packages on campus grounds, unless in a cooler or sealed packaging, will result in a citation for open alcohol, and consumption of alcohol on campus grounds.
PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES INSIDE BULLDOG STADIUM
SMOKING
Including the possession and use of e-cigarettes, is prohibited inside Bulldog Stadium.
PUBLIC ADDRESS SYSTEMS
Special messages will not be made except for emergencies.
MARKETING / PROMOTIONS / SOLICITATION
BSU has a no solicitation policy and reserves all marketing and promotions rights at its' events, including:
- Promotional vehicles and signs.
- Media rights (video, streaming, social, and audio).
- Any signage or promotional activities placed or conducted within or around the stadium/arena/fields or parking areas used for athletic events on game day, without the express written consent of BSU Athletics, are prohibited and are grounds for immediate removal at the owner's or group's expense.
- Promotion of any business, venue, enterprise, product, service, organization not authorized by BSU Athletics.
- In compliance with the BSU Grounds and Facility Use Policy, no solicitation is allowed during tailgating on game day (pre-game, during game, or post-game). The offering or handing out of any item or flyer is not permitted without written consent of BSU Athletics.
- Alcohol advertisements are not allowed any time on BSU property or at any athletic venue. This type of advertising includes banners, flyers, signs, and vehicles unless in conjunction with university alcohol education initiative (approved by BSU Athletics).
- Only BSU Athletics sponsors/partners may be granted the right to have a presence at its' venues.
UAS/DRONES
BSU Athletics and Public Safety prohibits Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS)/drones over all BSU property including Bulldog Stadium and the tailgating areas around the stadium on football game days without prior approval. Those requesting permission to operate a UAS/drone must contact BSU Athletics in advance.
