ETTRICK, VA — The Bowie State women's volleyball team (0-4, 0-0 CIAA) dropped both of its matches Saturday at the VSU Opening Weekend Invitational, falling in straight sets to Concord (4-0, 0-0 MEC) and in four sets to Bloomsburg (2-2, 0-0 PSAC).

SET 1 | Bowie State stayed close with kills from
Nadira Avery and
Abena Asomani-Martin, but Concord pulled away late behind Meg Williams to take the frame.
SET 2 | The Mountain Lions opened the second set on a 7-0 run sparked by Paige Richmond's serving. Avery,
Madyson Brinson and
Marissa Robinson helped trim the deficit, but CU held on for another 25-19 win.
SET 3 | Bowie State showed fight in the third with kills from Robinson,
Nina Edwards and Asomani-Martin, but Concord extended its lead late and closed out the match, 25-18.

GAME TWO | Bloomsburg, 3 - Bowie State, 0
SET 1 | BSU grabbed an early lead behind a service ace from
Trinity Loundmon and kills from
Nicole Taylor and Avery. Bloomsburg rallied midway through on a string of service aces and closed out a 25-19 win.
SET 2 | A service ace by Reece Culver and kills from Taylor and Avery kept the Bulldogs close in the second set. Bloomsburg pulled ahead late and secured the frame 25-20.
SET 3 | Bowie State responded in the third, holding off a late rally to win 26-24. Edwards and
Marissa Robinson fueled the early run, while Asomani-Martin and Brinson combined for a key block. Brinson delivered the decisive kill before a Bloomsburg error ended the set.
SET 4 | The Huskies opened on a 3-0 run and maintained control despite late kills from Taylor and a block by Brinson and Avery. Jordan Pryor's serving helped Bloomsburg seal the match, 25-18.
