CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Two Bowie State standouts have been recognized by the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) conference for their performances this past week. Samuel Graham was tabbed CIAA Defensive Back of the Week, while Challenger Valentine earned CIAA Wide Receiver of the Week, the conference announced Monday evening.
Graham, a Baltimore, Md., native, anchored the Bulldogs' defense with a game-high nine tackles (five solo, four assisted). The redshirt senior forced two fumbles, recovering one and returning it 53 yards for a touchdown, while also registering a sack for a seven-yard loss.
Valentine, a sophomore wideout and Baltimore native, powered the offense with a team-high six catches for 81 yards. His 29-yard touchdown grab gave the Bulldogs an early edge, and he averaged 13.5 yards per reception in Bowie State's 23-7 win.

Bulldogs will travel to Dover, Del., to battle division one opponent Delaware State on Saturday, Sept. 13. Kickoff is set to begin at 3 p.m.
