BOWIE, MD — The Bowie State women's basketball team (11-7, 4-5 CIAA, 2-1 North) is set to take on Bluefield State (12-7, 6-4 CIAA, 3-1 North) in a Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) divisional matchup on Saturday, Feb. 2, inside A.C. Jordan Arena. Tip-off is slated for 6:00 p.m.

Clear Bag Policy
Fans may only bring the following items into the arena (all items are subject to search):

• Clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC bags not exceeding 12" x 6" x 12"
• One-gallon clear plastic freezer bags (such as Ziploc)
• Small clutch bags measuring 4.5" x 6.5", with or without a strap 

All other bags are prohibited, including purses, backpacks, non-clear drawstring bags, briefcases, coolers, fanny packs, luggage, computer bags, camera bags, binocular cases, and diaper bags. Fans are encouraged to return unapproved items to their vehicles. Bowie State University cannot store items that are not permitted in the arena.
 
Game Promotion
Bowie State Athletics will participate in the Coaches vs. Cancer initiative in partnership with the American Cancer Society, using the game as a platform to raise awareness in the fight against cancer. Coaches will wear sneakers in support of the cause, and the evening will include a moment of silence and recognition of survivors. Fans are encouraged to wear pink or purple to show their support.

Scouting Bowie State
Bowie State is a defense-first team that thrives on protecting the paint, controlling the glass, and converting at the free-throw line. The Bulldogs allow just 56.2 points per game and hold opponents to 33.7 percent shooting from the field, anchored by one of the top shot-blocking units in Division II. Their interior presence, led by Bouknight, alters shots and discourages dribble penetration.

Offensively, BSU averages 64.2 points per game and relies on balanced scoring rather than one primary option. The Bulldogs are disciplined late, shooting 75.3 percent from the free-throw line, and capitalize on opponent mistakes by turning defense into points.

On the boards, Bowie State averages 39.6 rebounds per game boasting a +3.1 rebounding margin, emphasizing defensive rebounding to fuel transition opportunities.

Scouting Bluefield State University

• Bluefield State is 12–7 overall and 6–4 in CIAA play, featuring one of the most explosive offenses in the conference.
• The Big Blue boast the No. 1 scoring offense in the CIAA, averaging 79.9 points per game, while allowing 69.1, good for a +10.8 scoring margin.
• Bluefield State is the best three-point shooting team in the CIAA, averaging 7.0 made three-pointers per game, stretching defenses consistently from the perimeter.
• BState sits third in the CIAA in free-throw percentage (.699) and average 16.9 made free throws per game, capitalizing on aggressive offensive play.
• Bluefield State ranks third in the CIAA in team offensive rebounds (16.2), generating second-chance opportunities and extra possessions.
