BOWIE, MD — The Bowie State softball team opens its 2026 campaign this weekend, traveling to Covington, Ga., for the third annual HBCU Softball Invitational from Friday, Feb. 13, through Sunday, Feb. 15.
The tournament will feature HBCU programs from multiple conferences, including the CIAA, SIAC, SWAC, and MEAC.

- Head Coach Ed Powell enters his sixth season leading the Bulldogs after winning his third consecutive Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) championship in 2025 and earning CIAA Softball Coach of the Year honors.
