BSU faced a tough slate at the HBCU Softball Invitational, dropping five games over the weekend against Florida A&M, North Carolina A&T, Albany State, Alcorn State, and Claflin.

The Bulldogs opened the invitational with a 14-1 loss to Florida A&M. Bowie State managed to get on the board in the fourth inning when Presleigh Braxton tripled and later scored on a wild pitch, but the Lady Rattlers' explosive offense, including a three-run homer, carried them to victory. Sydney Seals started in the circle, pitching three innings with six strikeouts.

In the nightcap, North Carolina A&T earned an 8-3 win, as the Bulldogs briefly cut the deficit to 3-2 in the fifth inning on a two-RBI single from Braxton. Audrey Newell added a solo home run in the sixth, while Aaliyah Amos pitched a complete game with six strikeouts.

On Saturday at Turner Lake Softball Complex, BSU endured three more narrow losses. They fell 8-7 to Albany State after a walk-off in the seventh, despite out-hitting the Golden Rams 9-7. Audrey Newell drove in two runs, and India Stokes led the offense with three hits.
In the second game, the Bulldogs came up short against Alcorn State in a 9-8 setback. Coreena Dunham and Mikayla Amos powered the offense with home runs, and Amos added four strikeouts over four innings on the mound.

The day ended with a 3-0 loss to Claflin in a pitchers' duel. Sydney Seals delivered a complete-game effort, striking out nine, while the Bulldogs drew nine walks but were stifled by Claflin's defense.
