Women’s Bowling Set Sight on CIAA North/South Event III

BOWIE, MD – The Bowie State women's bowling team (24–35, 18–18 CIAA) will travel to North Carolina to compete in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) North/South Event III, hosted by Fayetteville State at B&B Bowling Lanes in Fayetteville, N.C.

Bulldogs Last Timeout
The Bowie State women's bowling team last competed at the CIAA Round-Up, hosted by the Bulldogs at the Annapolis Bowling Center in Annapolis, Md. BSU faced Johnson C. Smith, Fayetteville State, Shaw and Livingstone across three days of traditional, and Baker competition.

The Bulldogs opened the event in traditional play, dropping close contests to Johnson C. Smith (637–643), Shaw (655–687), and Livingstone (655–660), while also falling to Fayetteville State (695–940). Bowie State responded in Baker play with a narrow 682–673 victory over Johnson C. Smith. Jessica Watts and Arianna Clayton paced the Bulldogs on day one with matching high games of 191.

On day two, Bowie State fell to FSU(567–1076) and SU (624–760) before earning a strong 839–669 victory over Livingstone. The Bulldogs closed traditional play with a tight 681–702 loss to JCSU. Clayton recorded the team's top individual performance of the weekend, rolling a 266 against LC.

BSU wrapped up the Round-Up in Baker competition, dropping matches to Fayetteville State (776–996), Shaw (725–727), and Livingstone (796–820).

Bowie State will return to action Saturday, Mar. 21, through Sunday, Mar. 22, to compete in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) women's bowling championship taking place at Bowlero Bowling in Mechanicsville, Va.
