CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Bowie State softball outfielder Presleigh Braxton has been named CIAA Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.

Braxton paced the Bulldogs' offense in a doubleheader sweep, helping Bowie State secure a 4–1 win over Concord and a 5–1 victory against Salem. The junior finished the day batting .500 (3-for-6) with a double, two RBIs, three runs scored and two walks, reaching base five times.

In the opener against Concord, Braxton drew two walks and crossed the plate twice, creating early scoring opportunities as BSU capitalized in a 4–1 win. The Charlottesville, Va., native followed with a dominant showing against Salem, going 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs, including a key extra-base hit in the late innings to extend the Bulldogs' lead.

The honor marks the first weekly conference award of the season for Braxton.

Looking ahead, the Bulldogs will travel to Raleigh, N.C., to compete in the CIAA Round-Up, hosted by Shaw University, from Thursday, March 26 through Saturday, March 28. Bowie State is scheduled to open round-up play at 3:30 p.m. on March 26 against Claflin University.
