CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Bowie State softball pitcher
Sydney Seals has been named Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Pitcher of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday morning.
Seals delivered a dominant week in the circle, leading the Bulldogs to a 4–0 record across conference play. The sophomore posted a perfect 3–0 record in three appearances, totaling 14.0 innings pitched while allowing just one earned run on eight hits and striking out 12 batters. She recorded two complete-game shutouts, including a one-hit performance with nine strikeouts against Virginia Union.
Seals also earned a win against Virginia State, continuing to showcase her control and consistency against opposing lineups. Her ability to command the game and limit scoring opportunities played a key role in Bowie State's undefeated week.
The honors mark the second weekly CIAA award of the season for Seals.
Looking ahead, the Bulldogs will host CIAA divisional foe Lincoln (PA) in a doubleheader matchup on Saturday, April 18, at the BSU Softball Complex. The first pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
