Bowie, MD- -- Bowie State University is proud to celebrate 41 of its student-athletes who have earned the prestigious Division II Athletics Directors Association (D2 ADA) Academic Achievement Award. This recognition honors student-athletes who have shown that dedication in the classroom is just as important as dedication on the field or court. To earn the award, recipients must maintain at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA, complete a minimum of two years of college coursework, and be active members of an intercollegiate team during their final academic year. 15 students, from six different athletic teams, went above and beyond by earning a 4.0 GPA.
For these 41 Bulldogs, earning this honor is a reflection of the hard work and commitment they put into every part of their college experience. Between practices, games, travel, studying, and keeping up with their academic responsibilities, balancing it all is no easy task. Their success shows the determination it takes to excel as both a student and an athlete, while also recognizing the encouragement and support they receive from their coaches, professors, academic advisors, teammates, friends, and family.
