(PETERSBURG, Va.) The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association kicked off the first day of the Women's Tennis Championships on Thursday, April 15th from the Virginia State Tennis Complex. Krystyan Fleming earned the third match point for ECSU with a No. 2 singles victory (6-2, 6-0) against Lydia Mahon. However, BSU snatched wins in singles three through six; plus the No. 2 doubles victory by Kyara Lombre and Chelyce Fields for the Lady Bulldogs to advance.

Semifinal matches will begin on Friday morning (April16th) at the VSU Tennis Complex. Shaw will face Bowie State at 9:00 am, followed by Johnson C. Smith against Virginia State at 11:00 am. Both winners will compete in the championship finals on Saturday, April 17th.
