BOX SCORE

(PETERSBURG, Va.)  The Hawks of Chowan University edged Bowie State University 5-4 in conference tennis action held at Virginia State University.  The loss drops the Lady Bulldogs record to 3-6 overall (3-5 CIAA).

Chowan won No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 Singles by scores of 6-2, 6-4, 6-0, 6-0 6-0, 6-0 respectively.  Bowie State senior Amanda Hamilton captured a 6-4, 6-4 No. 4 Singles decision over Heaven Rushing.  Freshman Channae Manning battled Chowan's Jena'y Nelson and came away with 6-4, 1-6, 10-6 victory at No. 5 Singles and BSU sophomore Rebekah Cabaltica won No. 6 Singles by default.

The Hawks claimed victory at No. 1 and 2 Doubles, winning by scores of 8-0 and 8-1 respectively.  The Lady Bulldogs were awarded the No. 6 Doubles win by default. 

Bowie State will close out the weekend Round-Up with Sunday (March 24th) matches against Elizabeth City State and Virginia Union.
