(PETERSBURG, Va.)  The Fayetteville State University Lady Broncos captured a 6-3 victory over the Bowie State University Lady Bulldogs on the first day of the CIAA Tennis Round-Up.

Fayetteville State won No. 1, 2 and 3 singles and Bowie State's Rebekah Cabaltica took No. 5 Singles by scores of 4-6, 6-2 and 10-2.  The Lady Bulldogs won No. 6 Singles by default.

Fayetteville State's Varice Love defeated BSU's Iyabode Sodipo 6-0 and 6-0 in No. 1 Singles.  FSU's Brittney Williams won No. 2 SIngles, beating Bowie State's Kassandra Bishop 6-0 and 6-1.  Samantha Ledbetter of Fayetteville State won No. 3 Singles in straight sets (6-1, 6-0), downing Amanda Hamilton.  Bowie State's Channae Manning dropped a 6-2, 6-1 decision to Fayetteville State's M'Wake Thomas in No. 4 Singles.

The Lady Broncos took No. 1 and No. 2 Doubles by scores of 8-2 and 8-4 respectively.  BSU's Lady Bulldogs won No. 3 Doubles by default.
