BOWIE, Md. - The Chowan University women's tennis team had no trouble with Bowie State University on Saturday in a CIAA match-up, defeating the Lady Bulldogs 9-0.
Every Hawk in the line-up picked up a win in doubles and singles competition. Chowan's Natalya Kamenshchikova and Breanne Johnson teamed up to earn 8-1 doubles win over Bowie State's
Iyabode Sodipo. Jessica De Backre and Straffai Cleveland defeated the BSU duo of
Antonique Johnson and
Kassandra Bishop 8-1 followed by another Chowan 8-1 victory by Holly Egnor and Brittney Moser over
Channae Manning and Diana Mackey of the Lady Bulldogs.
Chowan (12-11, 9-0 CIAA) swept the Lady Bulldogs in singles competition, as Kamenshchikova, Johnson, Egnor, De Backre, Cleveland, and Jennifer Humphrey notched a win for the Hawks.
Bowie State (4-6, 4-6 CIAA) will continue CIAA play on Sunday hosting Elizabeth City State at 10 am.
