BOWIE, Md. - The Bowie State Lady Bulldogs tennis team improved their record to 4-6 overall (4-6 CIAA) after sweeping Elizabeth City State's Lady Vikings 7-2 and 7-2. Bowie State won five of six doubles matches and two of its three singles matches.

Brianna Burke captured an 8-6 victory at No. 2 Singles over ECSU's Valerie Edwards. Bowie State was victorious at No. 3 and 4 Singles as sophomore

Antonique Johnson claimed identical 8-1 decisions. The Lady Bulldogs won by default over the Lady Vikings at No. 6 Singles.
BSU's Sodipo and Burke lost 8-1 at No. 1 Doubles but Johnson and junior
Kassandra Bishop rolled at No. 2 Doubles by a score of 8-1. The Lady Vikings defaulted the No. 3 Doubles to the Lady Bulldogs to close out match one of the doubleheader.
Elizabeth City State only two wins in match two came at No. 1 Singles and Doubles. The Lady Vikings took the doubles competition by a score of 8-1 and beat the Lady Bulldogs 8-4 in the singles match.
Bowie State blanked ECSU at No. 2 Doubles, defeating the Lady Vikings 8-0 and was awarded a default victory at No. 3 Doubles.
Bowie State's Burke edged Elizabeth City State's Edwards 9-7 at No. 2 Singles and the Lady Bulldogs breezed to 8-2 and 8-2 wins at match two No. 3 and 4 Singles. BSU's Bishop shutout Shameka Henderson 8-0 at No. 5 Singles. Sophomore
Diara Mackey didn't have an opponent at No. 6 Singles and won by default.
The Lady Bulldogs are scheduled to host Virginia State on Sunday, April 7th at 12 noon.
