WILMINGTON, Del. - The Bowie State University women's tennis team lost a non-conference match at Goldey-Beacom College by the score of 9-0 on Wednesday afternoon.

The loss evens the Lady Bulldogs' overall record at 6-6 and snaps Bowie State's four-match win streak. Goldey-Beacom (14-4) entered the match ranked 37th in the nation.

Moreno got a 6-1, 6-1 win over Peters at first singles, Maria Victoria (Totana, Spain) posted a 6-1, 6-1 victory vs. Smothers at second singles and Mrad got a 6-0, 6-1 triumph at No. 3 singles over Johnson. Sengl notched a 6-0, 6-0 win at fourth singles over Manning, Francesca Beg (Westbury, England) recorded the same score over Habtemariam at No. 5 singles and Anastasia Melnikova (Vladivostok, Russia) had the same result vs. Slaughter at sixth singles.

Despite the lopsided final score, the Lady Bulldogs will look to redeem themselves on Friday, April 10th when they host the University of Maryland Eastern Shore at 1 pm.
