BOWIE, Md. – Seniors
Antonique Johnson (Laurel, Md.) and
Rahwa Habtemariam (Lanham, Md.) picked up singles wins in Bowie State's 5-4 women's tennis victory over Division I Coppin State on Wednesday (4/13) afternoon.
Johnson defeated Tanna Nita 6-4, 3-6 and 7-5 and No. 4 singles while Habtemariam won by forfeit at No. 6 singles.

Amber Peters (Lanham, Md.) 6-2, 6-0) at No. 1 singles. Ashley Milo cruised past Lady Bulldogs' sophomore
Dainese Smothers (Washington, D.C.) 6-2, 6-0 at No. 2 singles and Miranda Taylor defeated Lady Bulldogs' freshman
Sharaya Dunwell (Silver Spring, Md.) 6-2, 6-1) at No. 3 singles. Bowie State freshman
Madeleine Ndema (Lanham, Md.) dropped a 5-7, 6-2, 6-0 decision at No. 5 singles to Coppin State's Precious Udofe.
The Lady Eagles had the momentum early on against Bowie State in both doubles matches. Coppin State led 5-1 at the first flight before Bowie State battled back and won 8-6. The same scenario occurred at No. 2 doubles with Coppin State ahead and the Bulldogs rallying from behind to a 9-7 victory.
The Bowie State duo of Peters and Smother took down Geode and Milo 8-6 at No. 1 doubles and BSU's Dunwell and Johnson edged Taylor and Udofe 9-7 at No. 2 doubles as the Lady Bulldogs swept the Eagles in doubles matches.
The Lady Bulldogs return to the court on Saturday (4/16), hosting conference foe Chowan University in a doubleheader at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
