FAYETTEVILLE. N.C. - The Bowie State University women's tennis team fell 9-0 to Fayetteville State University on Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs drop 0-7 on the season while the Lady Broncos improve their overall record to 3-7 with the win.

In doubles play, Daniese Smothers (Washington, D.C.) and
Kamari Eason (Oxon Hill, Md.) fell 8-1 to Staisha Cain and Tajah Cox in the number one doubles play. FSU's Brittany Doss and Destiney Jordan beat BSU's
Kionza Allen (Laurel, Md.) and
Jocelyn Williams (Washington, D.C.) 8-0 in the number two doubles. Fayetteville secured a win by forfeit at number three doubles.
Smothers dropped an 8-1 decision to Cain at number one singles. Fayetteville State's Cox downed Bowie State's Allen at 8-2 in number two singles play. Bowie State's Eason played well at number three singles but fell short by a score of 8-5 to Jordan. FSU's Doss shutout BSU's Williams 8-0 at number four singles while and Asia Potts of Fayetteville State defeated Cooper 8-1 at number five singles. The Broncos were awarded the win at number six singles via forfeit.
The Bulldogs return to action on Sunday (4/9), taking on the division leading Chowan Hawks in a doubleheader beginning at 12 p.m. in Murfreesboro, N.C.
